Vimac Leisure was formed in October 2001 as a result of identifying a gap in the market place and the collaboration of the experience of its two directors.
The company was formed by Paul Mackings (Chief Executive) who was previously the managing director of another Northern based leisure group and prior to that was chief executive of Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club.
Jason Greenwood (Managing Director) also brings a wealth of experience to the business, having worked in the leisure industry for over 15 years at a senior level.
During its relatively short lifespan, the company has seen rapid growth by aquisition and development, predominantly in its core nightclub brand, Studio. Trenchers Seafood Restaurant in Whitby and the award winning Crab & Lobster Restaurant and Crab Manor Hotel near Thirsk are also part of their portfolio. Vimac Leisure now employs over 800 people both in full and part time positions in its venues across the UK.
